Sailing area: Sporades

In the heart of the Aegean Sea, the Sporades are a true haven of peace. Comprising 11 islands, only 4 of which are inhabited (Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros), the Sporades are perfect for a cruise in the sun and a complete change of scenery.

Sailing in the Sporades

The Aegean Sea is renowned for the Meltem, a specific wind that must not be underestimated. However, in the Sporades, this wind is not as strong as in the south. The climate there is favourable and the islands offer all the dream conditions for great sailing. Coolsailing offers you the chance to start your cruise in Volos, then to sail to Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and, finally, Skyros.

Places to visit

Before embarking for your cruise, we recommend that you visit the town of Volos, in Thessalia. It is surrounded by the Pagasetic Gulf and continues as far as Mont Pelion. Volos beach is one of the most beautiful in Greece and is the meeting place for its inhabitants. In addition to being a place for relaxing, the beaches are also art galleries.
