Lithuania is located in northern Europe to the north of Poland, the north-west of Belarus and to the south of Latvia. Its capital is Vilnius.
Lithuania is lined by the Baltic Sea to the west and has a continental climate inland. Winter temperatures vary between 0° and 30°. Winter starts in November and spring starts in mid April.
In the Baltic Sea, the best time of year to sail with your boat rental is between May and September. However, to enjoy the beauty of the summer solstice, it is advised to set out in June in order to enjoy 24 hours of sunlight. Scandinavian countries enjoy a relatively temperate climate, although the winter is quite harsh, the spring and summer are relatively mild. Concerning your itinerary, we recommend setting off from Klaipeda towards Palanga, Jodkante, Svencele and Nida.
In Klaipeda, you will find the Curonian Spit, which comprises two protected national parks, and an aquatic sector that is divided between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. You will also see the Lithuanian Sea Museum, which is a very large sea animal park where, in particular, you will find dolphins and seals. If you are a history lover, you will enjoy Klaipeda Castle that retraces the history of its construction, the Seaside Regional Park and the Dino Parkas Radailiai, a park devoted to dinosaurs. For lively evenings, try your luck at the Nes Casino Klaipeda and at the Olympic Casino Rojaus Sodai.
Stop off at Palanga, a beautiful seaside resort with large beaches and translucent waters, and enjoy the large selection of leisure activities, specialist restaurants, cafés, attractions and merry-go-rounds for young and old. On Basanaviciaus street, you will be spoiled for choice for cafés, bars, pubs, and other entertainment. For those who like going out, many events are organised, such as music festivals and shows, as well as several sports events. You will also find many nightclubs. Sport lovers will be able to enjoy cycling, horse-riding, rent a jet ski, and do some water-skiing thanks to the fully-equipped boat rental. On land, magnificent parks and pine forests will delight nature lovers. On the seafront, you will see the sculpture of "Jurate and Kastytis", a must when in the city, then pay a visit to the ethnographic cemetery and go to the Amber workshop or the musical fountain. In terms of culture, apart from the Amber Museum, you will be able to visit the Museum of Exile and Resistance, the house of Doctor Jonas Slipuas and the Dog Museum.
Stop off at Juodkrante, the second main town in the isthmus, where you will be able to admire the magnificent sculptures by about 50 artists laid out along the path to the sorcerer's hill. These large oak sculptures, exhibited in a wood, are all inspired by local folklore and traditions: a must for holidaymakers in the region.
Discover Svencele: its modern urbanism and its unusual architecture such as its rolling homes, ultra-modern cylindrical houses. These houses maximise the interior space and the natural light which passes through the large glass facades. The more athletic among you will also appreciate the fact that this town is home to one of the best kitesurfing spots in the region.
Next, pay a visit to Nida, where you will find the Thomas Mann cultural centre, the Nida Lighthouse, which dominates the town from the top of its 79 metres, as well as the Museum devoted to the history of Neringa. We also recommend that you go and admire the famous dunes of Nida that line the Baltic Sea. Take advantage of your fully-equipped boat rental to enjoy some water-skiing and wakeboarding or to visit the magnificent beaches in the area.
You will have the pleasure of discovering the Kursiu Nerija National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A very popular protected area in Lithuania, this park aims to preserve animal and plant species that are important for European biodiversity.
Discover Lithuania differently, visit the coast with your boat rental and enjoy a complete change of scenery, some exquisite moments as you drop anchor near a beach and admire a magnificent sunset. Discover the culture of the Baltic countries, their traditions, their choirs and their dance troops.
